Katie Suthers leaves her role at Holker IT behind to join Seriun’s service desk as a Support Engineer.

Originally born in Rochdale, Katie moved to Todmorden where she grew up until her high school years when she moved to Burnley with her family.

Studying at the University Centre at Blackburn College, Katie achieved a BA Hons in photography. Although she decided not to take this up as her career, she is still very passionate about it and is now one of her favourite pastimes.

IT and technology are another of Katie’s passions. She chose to take her career in that direction and took her first role in the industry as helpdesk assistant with Holker IT, where she handled customer calls and logged tickets. Curiosity got the better of her and after following a ticket resolution from start to finish and understanding the fix, she was hooked, and knew she wanted to progress her career in IT.

She then made her move to Seriun, where she plays an invaluable part in handling customer queries and technical issues. Being a first port of call for customers, Katie carries Seriun’s brand values and continuously promotes them during every customer interaction. She is already proving to be a great asset to Seriun, seeking as much information as possible when a client issue arises to enable a fast resolution – escalating more complex issues where necessary, so they can be actioned.

As part of her future development, she is working towards her Microsoft 900 qualification, along with other qualifications from the Microsoft suite.

Katie said: “I’m really enjoying my role at Seriun, I’m continuously learning and really appreciate all the support from my team and directors. The culture here is amazing, everyone is so helpful and friendly and there’s no problem too big or too small. I’m looking forward to developing my career with Seriun.”

Paul Jameson said, “Katie is a great addition to our team. She manages customer issues in an efficient and methodical way and helps keep our service desk organised. Keep up the good work!”

In her spare time, Katie enjoys a lot of walking. She climbed Scarfell Pike just before joining Seriun and is now determined to complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks and all of the Lake District’s Wainwrights.

On a trip to New York, Katie stumbled upon a quirky bar in Brooklyn called the Black Bear Bar. The bar had a skate bowl in the middle of it and was full of great people. Katie described it as “the coolest place I’ve ever visited.”
