Seriun Cyber Conference 2026: Bringing North West Businesses Together to Tackle Cyber Risk

On Thursday 15th October, businesses from across Lancashire and the North West joined us at Burnley FC’s Turf Moor for the inaugural Seriun Cyber Conference 2026.

The event was designed with a simple goal in mind: to give organisations practical, real-world advice on how to navigate today’s cyber security challenges. With cyber threats continuing to evolve, ransomware attacks becoming more sophisticated and AI creating new opportunities and risks, there has never been a more important time for businesses to understand their cyber exposure and resilience.

Throughout the day, delegates heard from a range of industry experts, technology partners and cyber professionals, covering topics including ransomware, cyber crime, artificial intelligence, threat trends, incident response and compliance.

Learning from the Front Line

One of the highlights of the day was hearing directly from organisations and experts dealing with cyber security challenges every day.

From emerging threats and attack techniques to lessons learned from real-world incidents, delegates gained practical insight into the realities of today’s threat landscape and what businesses can do to better protect themselves.

A fireside conversation with Tim Barrow, Managing Director of Terry Lifts, provided a particularly valuable perspective. Tim shared an honest account of life after a breach; the impact a cyber incident can have on an organisation and the lessons other businesses can learn from that experience.

Interactive Sessions That Brought Cyber Security to Life

Cyber security is often discussed in theory, but one of the aims of the conference was to make it tangible.

Attendees had the opportunity to take part in interactive breakout sessions, including a cyber escape room, an AI malware session and a Lego themed cyber security game – all designed to challenge decision-making and demonstrate how incidents can unfold in real life.

These practical sessions encouraged delegates to think beyond technology alone and consider the people, processes and decisions that play a critical role during a cyber security incident.

Cyber in the Real World

The conference also featured a panel discussion, “Cyber in the Real World,” bringing together Tim Barrow (Terry Lifts), Wayne Fulton (Seriun), Sasha Roshan (Huntress) and

Paul Benson (North West Cyber Resilience Centre) to share their perspectives on the cyber challenges organisations are facing today.

A Huge Thank You

We would like to extend our thanks to all delegates, speakers, partners and exhibitors who helped make the event such a success. Looking Ahead

The conversations throughout the day reinforced something we already know: cyber security remains one of the biggest challenges facing organisations of all sizes.

Businesses are looking for practical guidance, honest conversations and real-world advice. That’s exactly what we set out to deliver through the Seriun Cyber Conference, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us.

We look forward to building on the success of this year’s conference and continuing to help organisations across Lancashire and the North West strengthen their cyber resilience, reduce risk and prepare for whatever comes next.
