From Apprentices to Seniors: Shiraz and Ryan Promoted

Seriun has promoted Shiraz Javed and Ryan Parker to Senior Service Desk Engineers, marking an important milestone in their careers and reinforcing the company’s commitment to developing talent across its Lancashire-based team.

Career progression

Both Shiraz and Ryan joined the business as apprentices and have progressed quickly, building their technical skills and confidence while taking on increasing responsibility.

Reflecting on his journey, Shiraz said the promotion is a proud moment. “It feels really good and means a lot to me. Progressing from an apprentice to a senior role so quickly is something I am really proud of.” Among his highlights are leading smaller projects and seeing them through to completion, earning praise from both colleagues and customers.

Ryan shared a similar perspective. “Coming all the way from an apprentice with very little knowledge of IT and progressing up the ladder has been a big highlight for me,” he said.

Motivation and mindset

For both engineers, a clear sense of ambition has driven their progression. Shiraz explained, “It has always been about doing well and helping my team in the long run.”

Ryan added, “I like having a goal to achieve, so this felt like the next natural step. The more I develop, the more I can support my colleagues and be someone they can rely on.”

Looking ahead

Now stepping into their new roles, both are focused on embracing new challenges and supporting those around them.

“I am looking forward to mentoring our future apprentices, solving more complex challenges, and improving the knowledge base for others to use,” said Shiraz.

Ryan is equally motivated by the opportunity to push himself further. “The promotion is great because I’ll be facing new challenges and getting exposure to a wider range of problems. I’m really looking forward to testing myself and continuing to support my colleagues and our customers,” he said.

Future ambitions

Both Shiraz and Ryan have clear goals for the years ahead as they continue to develop within Seriun.

“In the next five years, I would like to move into a third line role” said Shiraz.

Ryan added, “I want to keep gaining more knowledge, expanding my skill set, and working towards progressing further to third line and beyond.”

The promotions reflect Seriun’s focus on creating clear progression pathways and supporting employees as they grow within the business.
